MONETIZING FOR PROFIT

How To Monetize Your Website or Blog

The internet is where hundreds of thousands upon hundred of thousands of people go everyday searching for something. While some are just looking for information there is also a good percentage that is looking for something that they would like to buy. The internet has proven to be a very reliable source in helping the consumer find and purchase what they want from the convience of their home.

When you have good traffic you have a good number of potential customers, and an increase in the amount of people who may purchase from your website or blog. Traffic is either aggresive or passive.. aggressive traffic are those people who came to your site on purpose to buy your product and passive traffic has been redirected and usually consist of your impulse buyers or shoppers.

So your website or blog increases revenue when it is monetized for this traffic. By monetizing i mean set up in such a way that they can purchase almost anything through your website or blog:i.e. A person comes to your website looking for hammers and because your website has been monetized, he may find a particular brand of paint that he purchases from you through your website and you receive the income from two purchases instead of one or none.

Two of the easiest ways to monetize a website or blog is Affiliate Marketing or allowing someone to place advertisement on your webpage or blog.

1. Affiliate marketing: The easiest method of monetizing your sight because almost every company, person, subsidiary or conglomerate want to increase sales for the cheapest cost to them selves. So they make it relatively easy for you to sign up and get some html text to add to your site and advertise their products while promising you a percentage of every item that you sell for them.

2. Ads: the second easiest way is to allow a company to place an ad on your website or blog and pay you when someone clicks on their ad. Now you need to know that a lot of these ads are handled by a middle man and you have to make sure you abide by their rules in order to get paid properly and on time.

Whatever method you decide to use should fit in with your website or blog and what you are trying to accomplish financially with your business.
